View Full Version : A 3mm Hex for the rear rebound...
I have had the worst luck finding a 3mm hex that will get a good bite on the rear shock rear rebound adjuster without trying to round out, are there any other solutions that 848/1098/1198 riders have found?

Hell i sold my DU515 on ebay for $500 and replaced it with the good one!! $1000!!! I did buy a kobalt ball driver extension for my ratchet that was about 4in that worked fine for the old shock!!!
HAVE SOMEONE ELSE PONY UP THE MONEY!!!:warning:
unfortunately, I don't know anyone who is willing to help out in that capacity. If you do, make sure you keep up good relations!

Just drill out that hole in the swingarm a bit wider mate. I assume you are using a ball hex which is always a bit dodgy. Come on....get out that drill!
Ya know, I didn't even consider that! Just a little bit longer on the slot would improve the access quite a bit. I think I'll do that.
That's what I did, just extended the hole lower about 1/4" and it made it a lot easier to get to.

I'd suggest getting some of these hex drivers. They work at a pretty steep angle and are quite well made. I have 2 sets of them...

Great thread, I purchased a ball-end 3mm wrench off of EBay last week after endless searches at Homie Depot, Lowes and Sears...they only sell them in sets:( I never thought about reaming out the hole in the swingarm, I'll see how the new wrench works first.

Another option that works great for me is the long 3mm ball end Blue Point tool from SnapOn - part no. YA9218. Dave

Jasson at DOS has a single 3mm driver you can buy from him. if you just want to buy one driver.

So Van did you crack out the drill or did you buy a different 3mm ball end?

Drill baby! put a 1/2" hole as low as I could and now its almost a straight shot!
I have rebound adjustment again! :hooray:

Nothing like a drill or a hammer to solve a problem eh?
Glad I could be of assistance. Maybe I should moderate the technical section of this site?
Unfortunately all advice given would probably require a drill or hammer

I like drills, but hammers scare me... probably because I get along with them too much :)
